4 Weeks... and Running!

They're on the move, playing with each other and discovering they have teeth... ouch! They also recognize voices and will coming running (if they want to) when called, for us, this is when the fun begins, as we get to watch their personalities develop. The pups all had their first check-up today... all have healthy happy hearts and are developing fine!

First Meal at 3 Weeks!

The pups celebrated their 3 week birthday with their first meal on Saturday. All of babies dug right in and lapped up the liquid, the only one unhappy about it was Kya. Even though she gets all leftovers, the idea of us humans being able to care for her pups does not sit well.... with their teeth coming in she'll soon be grateful!

The pups are 2-1/2 weeks old and wow are they growing!

Kya loves puppybreath as much as us humans!

Purple thinks her whole world is pretty funny!

Happy 1 Week Birthday!

Their first milestone has come and gone... the pups turned 1 week on Saturday! As of yesterday all six had gained 125% to 150% of their birth weight, which is right where they should be. Miss Purple will probably be the first one to see as she has tiny slits on the inside corner of her eyes. As soon as all the eyes are open they will become even more active and start to develop their own personalities.... let the fun begin!!

Mr Red, commonly referred to as the "good puppy" has requested a new wardrobe just in case there is any whelping box shenanigans committed by Mr Orange aka "the noisy mountain climber". He will for now and ever more (well at least the next 6-1/2 weeks) be the handsome Mr Yellow!

Today is tail docking day.... as you can see the pups did not find it traumatic at all... nor did Kya.

Miss Pink thinks she has the very best spot in the house.... and she could be right!!

But this spot is not so bad either!

Mr Orange climbing the mountain... too bad his belly is bigger than his head, he might just have made it!

Kya thinks Mr Orange needs to join his brothers and sisters with a much needed nap! Yes, Kya snuck a kong in the whelping box... a big no, no:(

We love touching our mom, even if it is only her feet!

In typical Kya fashion things went her way during labor and delivery... after having her third puppy she decided to take an eight hour break! Finally the last three were born, all very healthy and at nice weights. 2 girls and 4 boys!!

Stuka has been busy training with birds, obedience class and having a good time with his sister Elsa.
